Newbie needs help understanding some concepts of Modx

Another question for all the Modx experts out there who have given me such great help. I’ve truly appreciated it all and learned quite a bit.

I have three classifications of properties: Available, Sold, & Buyer Represented. I can easily filter the front-end template within my ditto call to only show each classification in different sections of the same page. I have a dropdown TV with the 3 preceding classifications assigned to the template for the properties.

How can I create a system to easily order the homes within each classification?

Currently, I have a document off the main tree called "My Properties." And within that sub-branch, I have all the properties there. Is there a way for documents to categorized within the document tree based on what is selected from the classification? For example, if I selected "Sold" it would automatically move itself to a sub-branch with it’s respective name? And then how would I sort properties within that?

create three documents under "my properties" for each of your classifications, and put your documents in those folders. organizing the documents this way replaces the need for a TV, and you can easily move documents within the tree.

That makes sense. I’m trying to find a Ditto parameter to sort everything within each subsection...because I’m not sorting by date, title etc. I want to sort based on the order in the document tree. Do you have any suggestions of what I might look into to learn how to do this? I’ve been reading through the Ditto wiki, but there’s not much there about all the different sortBy parameters. Is there another resource for this?

Also, just for argument sake. Let’s say I wanted to develop this system to use on other websites of mine (and other users), is there a way to extend the backend functionality and make it drag-and-dropable? So I could have a user drag one property from a certain subtree to another subtree and it would update itself? I found a plugin I think is was Doc Manager to order documents, but it’s not that sophisticated.
