I use the ObfuscateEmail plugin for encoding e-mail addresses.
Using this plugin with modx 0.9.6.3 produces a strange result in IE6 and IE7, when clicking on the e-mail adress. In FF, Google Chrome and Safari there’s no problem.
In IE it opens the e-mail program as expected, but also produces a new page in the browser only showing
When I disable the plugin, the problem persists.
I have this problem on 3 different sites, with different hosts. On 2 sites it’s a modx 0.9.6.3 clean install, one is upgraded.
You can try
this link to see what I mean. I also noticed the command in the statusbar of IE, which differs from previous versions of modx (they just showed mailto:
[email protected]).
I found out that the encoded mailto: has been saved to the database, including the question mark, so that explains why the problem persists even when the plugin is disabled.
When I edit the code in the database and enable the plugin, everything works fine.
Today I discovered that the problem only exists when using FCKeditor (I use version 2.6.3).
When using TinyMCE, it works just fine.
So, I’ve set TinyMCE as the default RTE to prevent this problem.
Still, I would like to know how to solve the problem with FCKeditor, because I prefer using this RTE.
Can anyone help me with this problem
