Infomation about a Newsletter system for modx

Hello,

what is the best newsletter module or snippet for modx?

I’m not really sure because I’ve only looked at Easy Newsletter... which ones have you looked at? (I’m not even sure what all is available).

It looks like the "Newsletter" snippet has been abandoned:

Not good... sigh.... this is such a common thing, I’m hoping someone has done a good implementation of it somewhere, but searching the repository isn’t easy.

Hi!

beside EasyNewsletter, there’s also

KoopsMailingList -> http://modxcms.com/KoopsMailinglistX-896.html
TxNewsletters -> http://modxcms.com/TXNewsletters-1940.html
and TE-Mailer -> http://modxcms.com/TE-Mailer-1685.html

i only manged EasyNewsletter to work semi-properly, Koops kept crashing my website ( i think someone’s working on an updated version right now ).
It would be great to have a Newlsetter with double-opt-in as well, as this is now mandatory in some countries.

cheers, j

If it is for a client who does not mind paying a few pennies per campaign, I would go for Campaign Monitor. Takes minutes to set up, grab the form code for your sign ups based on what you require and place the code in a template/chunk and you have a very powerful system.

No I do not work for them, just love the application

+1 for campaign monitor. They also have an api that you can use to keep your webusers and list subscribers in sync. My advice would be to set up a newsletter folder and template in modx to allow your manager users to create the HTML for the newsletter within modx (and to provide an online archive) and then they can import the page into campaign monitor for sending out.
