    I’ve been a longtime user of Modx and I recently ran into a problem related to quickedit. Whenever I’m logged into the manager and I goto my site, quickedit doesn’t showup and firebug spits out this error:

    this.toolbar is null
    [Break on this error] this.toolbar.setStyle(’display’,’block’);
    in QuickEdit.js

    EDIT: Here’s something I noticed in the source of my homepage, in the quickedit script:

    Window.addEvent(’load’,function() {
      qe = new QuickEdit(2,1,’/cms/manager/’,’assets/modules/quick_edit’,$(’QE_Toolbar’));
    });

    The path I put in bold seems wrong to me because my sub-folder is called "cms", so I’m already there when on the homepage. I believe it should just read ’manager/’ . How to I adjust this in the module when paths are all automatically set in the main modx config file?

    I’ve tried putting a diff QuickEdit.js file up from a working site but to no avail. I have this modx installation located in a sub-directory on an existing site that has another modx install already. I’m wondering if there’s some kind of conflict going on, although there shouldn’t seeing as the two installs are using two different databases etc.

    Any Ideas or Help  are MUCH appreciated!

      I’m interested in this thread, but I don’t have any solutions. I’ve just noticed that QuickEdit takes a dive from time to time... sometimes I see all of its links formatted inline with my other text instead of contained in that sexy little floating widget... when that happens, my page layout gets wrecked. As soon as I log out, QuickEdit (and the problem) vanishes. I thought it might have something to do with specialized CSS or browser specific rendering... but since the problem has been intermittent I haven’t been able to isolate the cause.
