News box module

I whould like to have a "Latest news box" in the left side of my page with the latest 3 news stories.

Can anybody suggest me, that kind of module?

Best regards

One word... Ditto

Thanks for suggestion!

I tried to insert the code:

<ul>
[[Ditto?parents=`0`&depth=`0`&dateSource=`editedon`&dateFormat=`%B %e, %Y at %r`&tpl=`list_li_updates`&display=`10`&sortBy=`editedon`&filter=`hidemenu,0`]]
</ul>

But it shows some weird text in the top right cornor of the page, what have I done wrong ?

Not sure about the weird text, but yu are missing a clause in the filter parameter. It needs to be in the format:

field,criterion,mode

Read here for some examples and more documentation: http://ditto.modxcms.com/tutorials/basic_filtering.html

Now i managed to get something posted in the frontend.

I have just made a main page and added som subpages.

Used this piece of code: [!Ditto? &depth=`0` &parents=`0` &filter=`ShowOnHomepage,1`!]

But how do I add a real news module with ditto?
