Hey

Im currently using the WebSignup snippet. like so [[WebSignup?&group=`Testers`]] and subsequently have created a group called Testers too.

My problem is that when a user registers they aren’t being assigned to the Tester group? The user is indeed being generated fine but just no group allocation?

    Am I missing something here?

ALSO, can you (in the snippet call) specify a document ID so the user can be automatically directed to this page on signing in? Again I tried using [[WebSignup?&group=`Testers`&tpl="2"]] but no luck here either.

    Thanks in advance

Sorry, it was a typo in my forum post. It is indeed groups I have in my snippet call.

Your call should work, are you being consistent with the group name?
By default after signing up the user just gets a confirmation message.
This comes from the tpl chunk or if none is specified from the websignup.inc.php file.

              Signup completed successfully
Your account was successfully created.
A copy of your signup information was sent to your email address.

You can redirect them once they have logged in via the login form e.g.
           [[WebLogin? &loginhomeid=`8` &logouthomeid=`1`]]

            Thanks for the reply

So....Im taking for granted that when assigning a user to a group via the registration form, the user groups (in the backend) should then list the new user?

            It definitely isn’t doing this?

Re: my other point about directing users to a specific home page. What if different users need to be directed to different pages? Like a client login area?

              Guys,

I had initially added the snippet call to the page content and realised that "&" was being converted to "&"

I wondered if this was affecting the snippet so threw it into a chunk and called that - it now works perfect.

Thanks for the help (as usual!)

One conversion from & to & still works, but every now and then TinyMCE gets it into its Tiny head to convert the & in & to & and you end up with & which most definitely won’t work. Generally speaking, if you see & in the rich text field, you’re OK. If you see & in the rich text field, best move things out to a chunk and clean it up.
