I just installed virtual aliases, but when I load up a page that I’m testing I get the following error:

    ERROR: Too many forward attempts!

The request could not be completed due to too many unsuccessful forward attempts.

I’m trying to redirect requests for urls with _ to ones with -

I wrote an alias in a documents TV field of "organisational_profile"

Then when I try that at the end of my base url I get the above error message.

Am I doing something wrong, or is something not working as it should?

    Thanks.

Also, the install instructions don’t tell you what to actually call the plugin. The TV, yes, but not the plugin. I tried Aliases and Virtual Aliases. Does it even matter what it’s called?

Check your htaccess file. I sure I’ve seen this before error before and it was the htaccess for me. Or it could be that you’ve got auto prefix in FURL and you’ve added one on the document aliase so it’s index.html.php

        Knight,

I don’t have any prefix set for furls.

My .htaccess is real simple at the moment, just

        Options +FollowSymLinks
        RewriteEngine on
        RewriteBase /acwa/
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /acwa/index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

        but wait:

If I include the "folder" name as well in the alias then it works.

        eg "about_acwa/organisational_profile"

ah okay you’re talking about the Virtual Aliases TV format. Yes if it’s a page in a directory then the directory structure needs to be there, like your example.
