I have been interested in how to get a forum integrated with modx since I started using it and I did try the SMF hack but it didn’t quite work. I think that most people would like to just have a single login for modx and a forum software and worry about creating a custom skin later. I’ve made my forum look exactly like my modx site but it’s 2 different logins which is a pain in the backside. I think that if someone could work on a system that could allow a user to login in to the forum as well as the registered pages of the modx site that would be a huge plus for the community. If someone thinks they can do this perhaps a bounty would help along? I know there’s so many forum softwares out there but if we could all agree to have it work directly with SMF then that would be a start. I know 9.7 is coming up and in a thread I made there was mention that it may make it easier.
I guess the question is not whether it might be possible... but more a straight YES or NO.
Did you tried WebloginPE and SMF ?
