When editing image in ImageEditor only the image placeholder shows

I am having a problem with the ImageEditor...

I have the FCK Editor - Resources Browser open and then select the Edit Image icon on any image. This opens the Image Editor window (www.mydomain.co.uk/manager/media/ImageEditor/editor.php) but only shows the image placeholder.

Resizing works in as much as the placeholder resizes but the actual image doesn’t get resized.

I’m using 0.9.6 for the first time. This all works OK on previous 0.9.5 installs.

I just ran into this problem and have finally tracked down the cause. It’s basically a tricky config setting which will work in many cases but will break other things.

The issue I had was in /manager/media/ImageEditor/editorFrame.php.
The image src was given as a relative path and so the browser looks for e.g.
http://mydomain/manager/media/ImageEditor/assets/images/logo.png
instead of
http://mydomain/assets/images/logo.png

Solution: in the Administration console, go to Tools -> Configuration -> Interface & Features and go down to ’Resource URL’. Make sure it has a leading slash, e.g. ’/assets/’.

Now your image paths will be absolute and should work as expected.
