Some advice please, I need to implement a nice News section on my website, requirements are
    1. summary view on the homepage (RHS)
    2. formatted news item page
    3. easy system to add new stories
    Or something similar ;-)

I started by trying to implement the NewsPublisher service but have come across problems - see below. So I have some questions -
Is the News publisher the best solution for my requirements?
What is the best solution and how best to implement it?
If it is NewsPublisher what about the errors below?

    Many thanks for your help.

"I’ve just tried to implement the News Publisher snippet with the RT Editor but cannot get it to work, or at least not as I was expecting. (as shown here http://www.modxcms.com/blog-publish.html).
Instead of coming up with a RT Editor in the form on the web-page, I get a normal text-editor. Also, it doesn’t appear to be picking up the formatting specified in the Chunk either.

But what is really odd, is I now have the extra RT Editor (specified in the TV) in the MODX Manager window whenever I go to edit a page."

    Please can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dr Rog

I tried this and got a blank gray line instead. Of course that instructs to use the FCK editor and I’m using the default RT editor but I can’t see why this would make that much of a difference.

Hmm... The gray line might just be an ugly divider...
Anyway the reason for the new RTE window is because of input for the TV variable for the RTE was specified rich text.

I had a similar problem that turned out to be a spelling error in a reference to either the TV or the form chunk. The names are case-sensitive. It helped me to keep going over the steps in the tutorial:

          http://www.modxcms.com/blog-publish.html

I did get exactly what you want to work (if I understand you correctly), although I still don’t have the capability for the web user to enter publish or unpublish dates.

          Hope this helps...

Thanks Bob, after perseverance I got it to work.

Next question... the editor only has a very basic subset of the edit functions available to the tinyMCE editor. How can I implement some of the more advanced features of the editor - any ideas?

            Thanks
