    I was wondering if there exists something which allows you to embed specific publishing info inside of the editor.

    For example, suppose I have the rights to post in a folder/section "news", and I use the editor, and I am saying:

    "On October 10 2007, we will launch version X of our product Y".

    Now October 10 has passed, I want the newsitem to stay, but I want the text to instead say "On October 10 2007, we launched version X of our product Y".

    Now I know this when I am editing, so perhaps there could be something like:

    [NewPublishSnippet &currentTerm=`will launch` &newTerm="launched" &changeDate="2007-10-11"]

    Something to publish/depublish/change only a part of the page, and directly in the editor by means of a code and/or a toolbar function.

      I don’t know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but you could do something like this:

      $setTime = mktime(0, 0, 0, $month, $day, $year);
      $currentTime = time();

      if ($currentTime < $setTime) {
          return "will launch";
          }
          else {
                 return "launched";
      }

      Then place a snippet where you want that to show up with something like this [!MySnippet? &month=`10` &day=`10` &year=`2007`!]

      That is very basic, and can probably be made better. Also, if you are wanting to do this to a placeholder, you might consider phX, with similar code.
