    Hi all,

I’ve spent a week trying to figure out a simple system. 0.9.5 trying to use what’s included to make this:

    1) customer registers an email address to subscribe to a weekly newsletter ( I have followed the docmentation (http://test.djamoer.net/manager/) and (http://modxcms.com/Newsletter-574.html). I’ve got the registration form the same as on the test site, and sent in an email address to the webusers group

    2) Next I want to set up a way to email a weekly web page newsletter to people. This has me really confused.... In the admin panel in manager, can I use this email form to send my weekly email? It only shows manager roles for available email senders, and I have no clue how to insert my page to get emailed. Is this possible in the manager admin page? or do I set up another page in my menu that is unpublished and holds a template for sending emails? answer: can not do this in admin panel

How does all this work? Is there a detailed example for how to do this that I’m missing... it’s been a week and I’m lost. answer: read every detail of the download, I know nothing about php so had to read through it a couple of times to find the chunks and get my head around how they work. Also I do not think the download is complete. helps alot to read through every detail on http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,2421.75.html. Between the two of them there’s still hope

ok think I have part of the solution:

In my website I created a new document (68) and I am trying to get the same functions as folder (8) in http://test.djamoer.net/manager/. I had a look at the code: [!Newsletter? &anchor=’68’!], and [!Newsletter? &emailGroup=’Test: Newsletter’ &removeUser=’true’!] seem to work fine even though they show the same form on my website. In the same page there are 4 blue lettered links: Sbscribe, Unsubscribe, Sending Plain Text.... so I had a look at the link and for example the Subscribe link says:

link type: URL, Protocol:<other>, URL: [~8~]?mode=signup

I’m trying to recreate these links in my site but it is in modx-0.9.5. The link info is completely different compared to the test site that I’m trying to get the code from. How do I do the same links in my website using 0.9.5 format:?

      Link URL
      Link list
      Anchors
      Target
      Title
      Class

getting a little closer... found all the chunks in the middle of the text download. Managed to get the FormDoc on my website to show the form to send the doc newsletter, but it didn’t show all of the form.

But I send the email and I get the following error:
        « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« ID passed in request is NaN! »

answer: I downloaded Newsletter 0.2b from a few different places in the repository, someone website, and forum...turns out something was different in one of them (can’t remember which one i’m finally with) but after reloading the snippet and chunks a couple of times it now kind of works...except to use the formdoc call.
