    Hi,

    I use Ditto und Jot.
    To show the comments under the content I use the placeholder {{Comments}} but this shows the comments everywhere but they should only be displayed when I click in a Blog entry.
    What do I have to do to show the comments only at the blog entry page?

      Put &commentsChunk=`Comments` in your Ditto call wink

        I already have it.

        Blog page:
        [[Ditto? &startID=`1` &summarize=`5` &total=`20` &commentschunk=`Comments` &tpl=`nl_blog` &paginate=`1` &alwaysshow=`1`]]

        Blog entry:
        ....content....
        [!Jot? &pagination=`10`!]

        But this shows the comments everywhere.

          I have the same problem, which I posted on http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,11634.msg78224.html#msg78224

          My only solution so far was this:

          Duplicate the Comments chunk and call it something else (I called mine SubComments).

          In the original Comments chunk "comment out" the call to jot with <!-- & -->

          In the Blog page where you want the list change your Ditto call to
          [[Ditto? &startID=`2` &summarize=`2` &total=`20` &commentschunk=`SubComments` &tpl=`nl_blog` &paginate=`1` &alwaysshow=`1`]]

          The downside is that I need to amend the blog entries to target the new Comment chunk {{SubComments}}

          It now works, but there must be a variable that you can use to simply turn off comments...Unfortunately I cannot find a reference to it.

          Check out www.adrianlawley.com/blog.html to see the result (It’s not finished yet).

          Good luck!
          Taff

            Hmm, what’s the difference between SubComments and Comments? O.o
            For me this has the same behaviour -> comments are shown everywhere sad

              The difference is that in the comments chunk I have removed the call to Jot that creates the comment fields.

              You did carry out the
              In the original Comments chunk "comment out" the call to jot with <!-- & -->
              step?

              Somewhere something is calling the comments chunk even if I remove from the initial ditto call.

              Um ehrlich zu sein, verstehe ich auch net ganz warum es jetzt funktioniert...aber ist gut so. Falls es bei dir nicht klappt könnte ich es schnell einrichten mit ein admin konto (ohne Gewähr tongue).

              Cheers,
              taff

                Nothing, he just named his chunk ’Subcomments’, you named it ’Comments’, doesn’t matter anything at all, just changes the calls a little wink

                  Now it works for me.
                  I modified ditto.class.inc.php
                  Added in line 189:
                  $summary = str_replace(’{{Comments}}’, ’’, $summary);

                  I still believe there is another way but noone knows it and this works...
