    Hello!

    I’ve installed MODx, SMF and the SMF Connector Module. I *think* I entered all paths and stuff correctly, but i get an error like this:

    « MODx Parse Error »
    MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
    Error: filemtime(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/Load.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/afs/tu-chemnitz.de:/afs/.tu-chemnitz.de:/etc/httpd/conf:/tmp:/usr/share/pear:/www/auth)
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: /afs/tu-chemnitz.de/www/root/phil/politik/fachgruppe/forum/Sources/Load.php
    Line: 2133
    Line 2133 source: $key = md5($boardurl . filemtime($sourcedir . ’/Load.php’)) . ’-SMF-’ . $key;

    Parser timing
    MySQL: 0.0471 s (5 Requests)
    PHP: 0.0973 s
    Total: 0.1444 s

    What i’m basically trying to do is to integrate the forum’s index.php on the main page (so that the forum is a part of my site and there’s no need to oben a new browser tab/window) into MODx by calling a snippet with the following code:

    <?php
    include_once($modx->config[’base_path’].’forum/index.php’);
    ?>

    NOTE: There is no difference in the error Code on top if my path has a trailing "/" before "forum" or not!

    I’m calling the Snippet with a page called "Forum" und the following content:

    [[forum]]

    What am i doing wrong?

    I would appreciate your help!! smiley

      SMF module it’s only to syncronize SMF users with MODx users.
      I suggest you to customize your smf template like your modx template, instead use an include.

        And then the Parse Error will disappear?

        All i want to do is to appear the forum *within* MODx, i.e. just a button "Forum" and then the forum appears in that area where all the other content is displayed.

          Sorry, SMF is not designed to run within another framework like MODx and would have to be customized (read: "hacked to death") to work by simply including the index.php file. If you manage to get it working after enduring intense debugging sessions and refactoring SMF into a nice embeddable application, feel free to share your blood, sweat, and tears with the community. If you are not a PHP developer and don’t have budget to hire someone to do this, you are much better off running these applications side by side and integrating only where absolutely necessary; the SMF bridge might help there...

            You could use those include snippets to make the forum show up in a iframe on your page. There was some iframe snippet posted recently that did some auto resizing of the frame etc.. you might want to look at that..
