    The Problem

After a recent install (not upgrade) of Modx 0.9.5 I’ve started having trouble with the "NewsPublisher" snippet.

I’m not sure what I broke during my general website edits to cause this, it was working at first.

When I submit using News Publisher from the front end, the content field (using TinyMCE) dumps its content and the page just refreshes, it doesn’t create a document. I am using the default call for NewsPublisher and the default TV for the content, (so the TV name is "blogContent" and the call refers to it as "tvblogContent")

If ahead of time, I add some text to the "default value" of the blogContent TV in the manager, posting from the front end works, however It just posts with the text that i added in the default value of the TV (even if i change it on the front end.

    What i have checked:

    • I have double (and triple) checked all my user groups and document groups, and made sure they are linked correctly (and the user is associated correctly)
    • made sure that the TV has correct Template Access (i made a new template)
    • I noticed an error in prototype.js logged by FireFox when i pressed "submit" (error: "too much recursion Line:530") (i found an article here that looks like it discusses it: http://cephas.net/blog/2006/05/31/prototype-tinymce-too-much-recursion/)
    • updated to the latest version of prototype.js just to see if it helped, it didn’t, (error just moved to Line: 534) so i reverted back to the version that came with Modx
    • The problem occurs whether or not i’m logged into the manager at the time

    UPDATE:
Other weird problems that may be related: As i’ve been trying to figure this NewsPublisher problem out, every once in a while, all my content will turn bold (haven’t touched any of my css) and won’t go back to normal until i close and re-open my browser. It happens after i try (unsuccessfully) to post with NewsPublisher. It doesn’t do this every time, just twice now for no apparent reason.

I also noticed that things seemed to work for NewsPublisher when i used the default "MODXHost" template instead of my custom template, i have included all of the script calls on my custom template, and don’t see much of anything that should cause all this weird behavior...

    UPDATE 2:
The problem with the NewsPublisher and (possibly) the other weird problems seem to be related to having MaxiGallerySolo in the template. There seems to be a conflict.

Any ideas on how to resolve the conflict?
