Custom content

I’m new to MODx and wondering what’s the right way of building a website with MODx with my own content.
I think MODx is the right CMS framework for me but i do have a hard time getting a grasp of understanding how things really work.

For instance i would like to have a member profile page.
Members can have their profile on one page, view and search through a list of member profiles.

How would i start building a thing like that.
Should i use snippets to show a profile list and a profile page?

How can i do this with MODx and where do i start...

Thanks in advance.

Auke.

You would need a snippet that gets the data you wnt from the database, then displays it. Check out the PPP snippet being worked on here http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,8922.msg70601/topicseen.html#msg70601
