right! the format Menu seems to be just for block-level HTML elements, infact if I add an inline element (<span>) to it, it gets ignored (i.e. it does not appear in the menu)

... so how does one actually inserts a <span> ?!? with the ’Styles’ menu!
select something less than a complete block-level element, and assign any class from the ’Styles’ menu to get


I still don’t see how to add the ’lang’ attribute to the newly created <span>
