Hello, am here with my questions again. Please, I want to know if I can design the whole site with templates and link the various templates as pages? For instance, the home page doesnt have a [*content*] tag because of the structure of the site I want(not a three column design). So am thinking if I can have other templates with the kind of structure I want and link the various anchors and links to the other templates i designed as pages.
To further clarify, I have a home page which in itself is a template without a [*content*] tag. inside this template is information and links that normaly should reference pages but I want to make the links call the other templates which I have named, services, contacts, about, etc. . Can this be done? If it can, my life is made and I will be very happy for any help/suggestions

No reason in the world you can’t do that ... although my personal question is why you would want to do so?

Have a link to a comp or HTML markup? I’m having a hard time getting the vision.

Hi Salvage,
From what I understand, you want to make a website with different layouts and designs per page.
Your homepage needs no content per se and only needs to link to the pages you will make in modx.
Here is option one:
1. make a master template only containing html>head>body
2. inside the body place a [*content*] variable
3. paste your html for each page into each content area for each page you make.
4. so homepage has your home html, your second page has its own layout html..and so forth.
5. once you have made your pages, return to your homepage content, get the ID’s for the other pages, and in your href’s place [~ ~] , inside the tilde’s place the page ID for the correlating page.
ALTERNATIVELY, option two:
1. create mutiple templates,
2. define the content areas [*content*]
3. add content into those areas
4. apply the specific template per page.
Personally Think this is long winded, and you are not fully utilising the power of modx, but going on what you have asked for this seems to be what you are looking for.
