    Don’t know if anyone’s come across this before - my comments page is at /foldername/comments.php

    When submitting, I get my 404 page, and the uri has somehow directed to /foldername/foldername/comments.php, eg it has added an extra folder that does not exist.

    The only way I could solve it was by changing the snippet code on the form to action="/[~[*id*]~]" rather than action="[~[*id*]~]", ie with an extra forward slash.

    I am using friendly URLs, any idea why?

      I do not know if this helps you, but once I had same problem. I had this

      <?php echo "something" ?>

      in page that caused same problem.

        If you’re using Friendly url path you can try setting the <base> url inside your template.
