    Hi does anyone know where drop menu picks up its urls from?
    I’ve created similar menu systems in the past and always used SERVER_NAME to build the urls
    that way menus work on dev systems and live without any configuration changes, drop menu doesnt appear to use this and seems to have the base site url hardcoded?

    If anyone knows if there is a way to change the drop menu snippet to be based on SERVER_NAME I will provide a 1000 e thank you’s smiley

      The urls returned by DropMenu are relative. Take a look at the menu in "view source" in your browser.
      <ul class="topnav">
      <li><a href="index.html" title="">Home</a></li>...
      The URLs are generated by the MODx document parser, manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php; the DropMenu snippet uses the [~...~] tags to pass the document ID to the parser for generating the URL. If you’re interested, the applicable function is "rewriteUrls()", around line 750 or so, depending on your version.

        Indeed you’re right sorry for the lack of investigation before posting (doing 10 things at once).
        my issue stems from the (minimal) template Im using setting a base url of site_url, which is what is locking me to localhost on my dev machine so less of a problem than expected.

        thanks for helping me pull my head out of my *ahem* on this one, now I can get back to working on getting RSS aggregation going (whoopy) smiley
