I just set up MODx and am still struggling on various areas.

    One is the DropMenu.
I’m trying to use it with a ’Sliding Door’ menu and therefor seem to need to change some things in the DropMenu Snippet as Susan Ottwell states (http://www.sottwell.com/tpl-yaml, http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,2609.msg17880.html#msg17880)

It doesn’t seem to work with or without the ’hack’.

    I get an error:

« Execution of a query to the database failed - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ’38’ ’ AND sc.published=1 AND sc.deleted=0 AND (sc.privateweb=0) OR’ at line 3 »

I see the error in the SQL syntax which is probably the redundant ’ ’ ’ after 38 which I have no idea where it comes from.

I even tried to do the DropMenu call without an end ’ ’ ’ after 38 in the template:

    [!DropMenu?startDoc=’38’ &levelLimit=’1’ &selfAsLink=’true’!]

    but this didn’t help.

    Any ideas what’s going wrong?

Hint: I had to search quiet a lot before I understood that DropMenu isn’t installed automatically although it seems to be a internal (core) snippet. It’s not even listed on the repository. Then the ’snippet.dropmenu.tpl’ in the install folder was somehow strange formated (Mac?) and had some ’ ` ’ instead of ’ ’ ’ and I had to search and replace them. Maybe I did all wrong and could have installed DropMenu any other way?

Try calling the snippet using backticks instead of quotes, just an idea if you haven’t tried it already:

      [!DropMenu?startDoc=`38` &levelLimit=`1` &selfAsLink=`true`!]
