I have created a Greasemonkey script to enable saving documents in MODx via the keyboard. Once installed, you can use Alt-S on Windows, Control-S on Macs, to save your document, snippet, chunk, etc.

    About Greasemonkey

Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that lets you add user scripts to a web page that modify the page (its look or content or interaction). Using Greasemonkey to enhance MODx means your site files are 100% untouched. There’s no "hacking" the system. Everything happens on the browser side before the page is rendered. A 10 second install and you’re done, and you can disable the functionality with the click of a button.

    To use the script:

    Install Greasemonkey:

    http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/

    Install the script:

    http://www.sparkplug.com/greasemonkey/modx_save.user.js

It should just work. However, if you have somehow changed the name of your "manager" folder (i.e. you access the admin interface with something other than http://www.yoursite.com/manager) you will need to alter the list of included pages. In Firefox, choose Tools > Manage User Scripts... and change the Included pages to something like */name-of-your-admin-folder/*.

Questions? Problems? Suggestions? Complete system meltdown? Let me know.

I’ll be very curious to find out if this works for people.

Now here is a nice addition !

I am sure users will love it !
I’ll test it local before using it in production, but it sounds just great grin

It looks like it’s not easily possible right now, but I put that note in just in case someone had hacked their system to change it.
