Are you saying much of 1.0 is a rewrite of .9? Where could I find this information? (I think ive read almost every post in this forum =)
Yes, 1.0 is a complete rewrite of MODx from scratch. Let’s just say I’ve loved the approach MODx takes to CMS since the beginning, but quickly learned I didn’t love the code itself quite as much once I joined the MODx core team and starting fixing bugs and trying to implement new features. Nothing a little reorganization, a huge reduction in redundancy, and a few object-oriented pattern implementations can’t take care of though.

1 more. Any details of the localization/multi-culture for 1.0?
ok 2 more. Is there an SVN I can get a look at?
The initial 1.0 code is in SVN, but is not publically accessible at this point. We’re still a few iterations away from being ready to reveal the code, but I am finishing up a complete 1.0 Roadmap now to reveal to the community, along with a few other surprises, so stay tuned.
For now suffice to say, all MODx 1.0 content elements (snippets, chunks, TV’s, plugins, etc.) will allow multiple revisions of content, and can define these revisions for multiple cultures (a culture being potentially more granular than just a language selection). In addition, the introduction of a new content element type representing meta data will allow all of the attributes of a MODx document (or other web link, web service, etc.), such as pagetitle, longtitle, description, etc., to be defined using the same multi-cultural content versioning engine. Culture user preferences, session preferences, as well as the introduction of a new concept to MODx 1.0 called site contexts (which will allow you to override default modx system settings for sections of a site, and much more), will make creating most multi-cultural sites as easy as structuring your site and translating the content properly, while still providing the infrastructure for advanced developers to quickly produce more robust solutions, without having to hack the core of MODx.
