[Snippet] ListFaqFolder 0.2 Beta

FaqRoot : Folder with [[ListFaqFolder]]

- Category1 : Folder with [[ListFaqFolder]]
- Q/A : document
- Q/A : document
-- SubCategoory1.1 : Folder with [[ListFaqFolder]]
-- Q/A : document
-- Q/A : document

- Category2 : Folder with [[ListFaqFolder]]
- Q/A : document
- Q/A : document

not sure if i’m doing this correctly, I put the tag on a page and have my folders setup but all I see on the page is a link that says go back to: home home being a blank page

did I miss something ?

FAQ folder <- root
cat1
>> doc1
cat2
>> doc1

Hi,

Do you defined the $faqroot variable in the snippet?

the number of the folder you use to the first level of your FAQ.

If you use the number 0 it is the "home" document by default.

in this exemple the first level Faq folder is the number 5.

the content is :

When you display this page you see the subfolder list and the number of Q/A of each one.

I did specify a root folder

perhaps i’m not writing the tag properly ? how to call it in a page

this is what i used [[ListFaqFolder]], i think its starting to work now,

I see a category label and the 2 folder categories and i put text inside the folder (page) and it can be seen but is that correct ?

as in your example it shows a question and and answer are they in the same page or is that just css styling

Hi,

Like you see in this tree

I create a document page by question/answer.

This snippet create a list of :

1 - the sub-categories(folder) and the number of questions of each
2 - the question/answer(page) created in the active categorie (folder)

Aour

sorry, still missing something

did you say your question is a separate document and your answer page is a separate document ?

from your image example, it seems like your title is the question ? how does the snippet know if its a question or answer ?

when i see the faq list it shows duplicates

categories
faq (1)
2 questions

then it repeats the same over and over again on the page

Hi,

In your document you have the answer and the question :
[’introtext’] is question (because when you have a long question the title is too short)
[’content’] is answer

In your Faq, you have the root folder "FAQ" for exemple
And you can create folder to define catégories and sub-categories (no sublevels limits)
And you can create document in any folder you want with introtex = question and content = answer

when i see the faq list it shows duplicates

Where do you see duplicates ?

ok got it working, had a duplicate snippet in one of the category folders, looks good

is there anyway to show questions as links ? someting like this or similiar

Yes, create a new snippet

You wouldn’t have to create a whole new snippet from scratch, just duplicate this one, rename it, then where it loops through the documents add the <a...> tags around the question.

Hi

It’s a little bit more complicated.

Where it loop you have to insert a step 2

Ok Step 1 - creation of the list of sub-categories
New Step 2 - creation of the list of questions with a link to an anchor : a href="#question1"
To modify Step 3 - creation of the list of Question/answer - you have to insert the anchor at the begining of each question
