    Hi board

I am hoping to add the following functionality to a website and wondered if anyone had experience modifying a ModX addon to do something similar?

You know the product configurator used on the Dell website when you are spec’ing up a new PC? You select various check boxes and select boxes and a div on the right automatically updates with the price of the package to reflect the selections.

Any ideas on how I might start going about trying to replicate that functionality in ModX?

My coding skills are as follows: I can hack stuff together and have enough knowledge of PHP to make existing things work...

You would need to use javascript to do this using ajax calls to a php script. Take a look at jquery.

run a google search on jquery/php/ajax.

The idea would be to use jquery to detect a change in the form, send an ajax call to get the infomation from a Database using a php script, and then use jquery to insert the returned information in to the DOM.

I know this sounds like a lot of buzz words but a little resurch on javascript/ php / ajax will help you understand them.
