Accessing editor plugin from another application

I’d like to write an API function to access Modx plugin editors, such as FCKEditor or TinyMCE, from another application such as SMF. Ideally it would choose the user’s default editor and grab the current toolbar settings. Would someone mind providing some tips on how to get started? Thanks very much.

I think it should be possible...

First include the config.inc.php files then include the document parser file then create an instance of modx and call the invokeEvent() function the same way it’s done inside the mutate_content.dynamic.php file.

Not too sure how it will work but the above is just a start
