Attached is a temporary hack to the NewsListing snippet which can sort by createdon (default), editedon, or pub_date. You just need to add a snippet parameter of &datetype=`pub_date` to sort by and display this column instead of createdon (though please note, if no pub_date is assigned to the document, the createdon date is used).
This is a hack because it does not exclude documents which users do not have access to, as the original version does. We are working on a permanent solution in conjunction with some core API changes to improve this functionality. It also will not respect the showInMenu indicator at the moment. More soon.
NOTE: Just copy this over your current NewsListing snippet (you might create a duplicate of the original so you can revert back if this doesn’t work for you for any reason).
This works just the way I wanted to. Thnx!
