Anyone have any experience with dealer- or store-locater scripts? This would be where you enter your postal code and it would return the closest stores to you.

I was just searching for locator scripts several days ago, since my company’s site was needing one. We don’t have any installed there yet, so I can’t vouch for any particular script, but HotScripts lists several that look promising for us.

      Good luck.

PS - so the "base of operations" for MODx is in Dallas! Cool - good things happening close to home (I live south of Fort Worth).

We wound up rolling our own. Nothing that can work generically.

I use phpGoogleStoreLocator. It does a reasonably good job and it’s free.

Here is one of the sites we have it working on: www.goldenearth.net/retailers/
