Set different default path for web users in Resource Manager

The title says pretty much everything. I want to keep files uploaded by web users seperated. Ideally to set a different path for web users - some subfolder of /assets/ - something like /assets/files/public or so...

I’m using MODx Evolution.

Security => Manger Users =>
Then pick your user and go to the User tab and set the preferred path in File Manager path
This only works for the File Manager, not the File or Image browser launched via Tiny MCE

Thank you, unfortunately I need this for "web users" (visitors) not normal users with access to Manager. There is no such field in User tab for visitors.

Use the default file manager path for web users and set manager users path individually (or automatically with a custom plugin).

Oops, didn’t notice you’d said web users.
There is a setting in Configuration => Interface & Features => Web Users but I’m not sure what it does, I’ve never used it!

Well, it allows web users to use the Resource Manager. But that’s not enough for me.
