Cannot input Document Tags

I’m using the TV documentTags that came as part of the base install which appears in the document editing screen as Tags.

The field will not accept new inputs. I input text into the field and press Save but the field is empty during its next edit. The db table site_tmplvar_contentvalues contains only the tags that came with the base install.

To further complicate the issue, I can edit existing tags that came as part of the base install and the changes do stick. It’s the new entries into a blank Tags field that do not save.

Version 9.6.1p2 (fresh install, no changes), root login to the MySQL db.
