    Hi,

I need to add some services to a main services page, (image/icon and text, wrapped in few div’s and list hence the TV’s) which are also copied (only a selection, say 5) onto the homepage.
I was thinking about having 10 TV’s set-up on the home page ie. service_1_text, service_1_image etc. to cover the five chosen services, but when it comes to the main services page there could be 5, or 105.
I am I thinking about this all wrong?
What would be the best way to attack this?

Any help, questions, advice welcome on this...

TV’s are the greatest. But if you get a lot, the page becomes is pretty ugly to edit, and if you had 100, oh wow, I think you’d really slow things down for page loading!

I would tend to use Ditto for this (or GetResource for Revo, you didn’t specify, I’d suggest sticking your system specs in your sig and you won’t be asked anymore). This way, you’d have a Ditto call on your service page, and then you’d have a child doc for each record, and these all get pulled into the root document, templated any way you’d like. This way you don’t have any number limit, nor do you have a ginormous page of TV’s.

You could use a special template for the child doc data entry and the TV’s there could be used for image and text, this way you just have 2 or 3, and you can force the DIV and TV scenario with your template.

Hmmmm, the truth is, if I had 100 docs, I wonder if Ditto would be any faster than 100 TV’s on one page... I honestly don’t know. Maybe some guru will know.

        Thanks for the reply...

        Signature updated smiley

Also it will only be around 20ish, but the concept may go up-to 100...
Like the idea, of adding all the services like, that, there will be a detail page on each one anyway...
