I don’t know what the cause is if it is the changes but are you using Safari 3 as your main dev browser? As I learned recently it is not fully baked. Apple wanted to ship the new browser with Leopard but Webkit (the open source development group for the Safari 3 engine) hadn’t completed the javascript parsing debugging and some other documented bugs. I certainly wouldn’t use it as my main browser. Specifically for things that require a reasonable rendering of the DOM.

http://webkit.org/ and get the latest nigthly and compare.
