I have a client using using Modx 0.9.6.2 and has been complaining about sometimes content disappearing from the Document Content section of her pages. She is using TinyMCE and the server is running PHP4 and MySQL4.

Do you have any idea how this might occur? I did install content_history plugin in an effort to help her lost content back.

I won’t say it’s impossible, but I’ve never seen it or heard of it. Any chance the content is still there but not rendered due to HTML errors on the page? Can your client be more specific about the sequence of events (e.g. does it occur during document edits, document saves, or on its own)?

Another possibility is an ancient version of PHP or MySQL. Check here: http://modxcms.com/learn/general-requirements.html

Oh thank you for your quick reply!

Previously I know the client was pasting from Word and it was adding a whole bunch of crazy tags that we believed was the problem. We instructed her to not paste from Word in this way and to check the code for these crazy tags. I guess she continues to have the problem and says that there are no tags in the code like before.

The host has been doing a lot of upgrades this week and went up to PHP5, which started causing 500 Internal Server Errors when trying to edit pages, so I had them go back to PHP4 just to get the functionality back. I think in the near future, we’ll have to upgrade.
