    Hi all!

I’m using Xweather snippet that pulls out the weather info from Google API.

Now I transfered the website on Site5.com hosting (VPS) and now the weather forecast stopped working! It’s just dissapeared..
Is this the hosting issue (the php is using Simple XML...) or maybe something else?

    Any help is appreciated..

If you know another script that is using Google Weather API, please write it down wink THANKS!!!

If your VPS is on PHP 4, try updating that to php 5. I think w/ Site5 you can do that via the cPanel or htaccess.

(The php5 requirement was discussed on the german forums here: http://www.modxcms.de/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=1364)

If going to php5 doesn’t solve your problem, be sure to read the bright red info under the post textarea that says to post certain info smiley We can’t guess your setup, versions or anything. We don’t know how you call the snippet, if it works with different parameters etc, so try to put in some more effort in helping us help you.

Well... phpInfo() says PHP Version 5.2.17 smiley

I’m using modx version EVO 1.0.4 and on another site 1.0.5

P.S. Here is the php snippet (and PHP config file) in attachment, so you can maybe found an error? Hmm...
If I can help in any other way, please say so!!! smiley

I will paste you the URL to test site page, but for now it doesn’t output anything, so I can’t see the purpose for this at this point.

Working example can be found here
          http://www.vikendplaner.info/
in the upper right corner. This site is powered on 1.0.4 on Dreamhost server.

Only things that come to mind looking at the code are checking for cURL and simplexml... beyond that I have no idea.

Nothing in error logs either? (Server or modx)?

I’m not a programer (I’m a designer), so I don’t understand what is cURL or simplexml grin

              kiss

I just can’t understand why the script is working on dreamhost and on Site5 is not...

The difference is probably some server configuration, as not all hosts use the same configuration.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to check with your host or their support center. You can do a search in the phpinfo for curl and see if that’s enabled.

Another option you may have luck with is to check the server error log for any thing in there that can help us help you figure it out. Again, your host should be able to tell you where to find that. I think at Site5 it’s in the cPanel under advanced.. but not sure.

Oh and I assumed you checked the modx error log as well?

Yes...and everything seems ok there (just one parser error for missing folder, but this is resolved).

                  CURL info:

                  cURL support enabled
                  cURL Information libcurl/7.21.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8b zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.6.5

What do I must ask host support center? I can’t ask them: "Why does not my weather forecast working" rolleyes grin
                  Anything specific?
