Converting the manager to jQuery sounds like a great plan, I'm still a big Evo fan!
I've not really tried out Custom TVs thanks for the link. I think my post is correct for the standard Date TV and the built in date fields (publish date / unpublish date) in conjunction with IE9 ... even though I appreciate it is slightly off-topic here.
