    Hi

    I’m building my site in a test area: http://pegasus.xssl.net/familyfunk.co.uk, it automatically get’s reverted back to the default http://pegasus.xssl.net/~admin20/.
    The ~admin20 is causing my blog comments not to work properly. I’m using the alias clearfocusentertainment.com to view the site. However clearfocusentertainment.com/manager is giving me a 404 error message. I’ve had a look at the /core/config/config.inc.php and I’m trying to remove the ~admin20

    $modx_connectors_url= '/~admin20/connectors/';
    $modx_manager_url= '/~admin20/manager/';
    $modx_base_url= '/~admin20/';
    $modx_assets_url= '/~admin20/assets/';

    But everytime, I change /~admin20 in the config to familyfunk.co.uk, the manager page changes and the login button doesn’t take me anywhere even though the password is correct. Please see config1.

    If I remove /~admin20 the site breaks.

    If I change ~admin20 to familyfunk, I can login but the managers’ page is broken, please see config2.

    All I need is the ~admin20, not to be there as it causes problems with the quip comments. Can anyone offer any suggestions to resolve this.

    Thanks

      Did you move the installation from ~admin20?

      What’s the problem with your blog comments?

        Remember that those are URLs, not paths. Are those the actual URLs to those locations?

          When I set up my hosting, I didn’t want to assign the domain name famIlyfunk.co.uk to it, until the site is complete. So the original site is still running. When I want to view the site I go to http://pegasus.xssl.net/famIlyfunk.co.uk, this automatically reverts to the hosting default name ~admin20, (http://pegasus.xssl.net/~admin20/). To my hosting I have set up an alias at clearfocusentertainment.com to view the site.

          I’ve temporarily exported and deleted the original database. But when it is working, the friendly urls break when somebody comments on a post and I get an error page.

          Please help i think its the ~, that’s causing me problems.

          Thanks

            I’ve since re-uploaded my database. (Please note I am still using the default ~admin20 in the config file).

            If I preview the homepage (http://pegasus.xssl.net/~admin20/) it is showing the background image but no site. However the backend manager is fine, (resources, chunks, templates etc) but if I preview any page, I get a 404 error message http://pegasus.xssl.net/~admin20/events.html. Not sure what’s happening can anyone offer any suggestions, I don’t want to have to redo the site again from scratch.

              Since you’re using friendly urls in a subfolder, are you setting that in the base in the htaccess file?

                i think it may be a problem with my database. If i look at the homepage’s source, the site is there but it’s not displaying.

                i’ve renamed ht.access to .htaccess. The only friendly URL’s bit is below
                # The Friendly URLs part
                RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
                RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
                RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

                The site is completely broken. Don’t know what I should do?

                  A little higher then that there’s a RewriteBase /

                  What do you mean the source is there though?

                    Sorry I meant source code.

                    I’m not quite sure what i’m looking for, is the below correct
                    :
                    RewriteEngine On
                    RewriteBase /

                    # Rewrite www.domain.com -> domain.com -- used with SEO Strict URLs plugin
                    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
                    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^example-domain-please-change\.com [NC]
                    #RewriteRule (.*) http://example-domain-please-change.com/$1 [R=301,L]
                    #
                    # or for the opposite domain.com -> www.domain.com use the following
                    # DO NOT USE BOTH
                    #
                    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .

                      Do i need to change www.domain.com, domain.com, example-domain-please-change\.com and http://example-domain-please-change.com to http://pegasus.xssl.net/familyfunk.co.uk.? I’ve had a look here:http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,42338.0.html, but it’s slightly different to what i have.
