Hi

I would like to use MODx for a new client project and wanted to know how it handles data managment?

By that, I mean if someone makes an enquiry through the website i.e. using a contact form (or several forms for that matter) would it be able to log the information and categorise each category so that I (or the client) could then look at the data and send out specific email marketing based on the submitted information?

Also can this information be downloaded/imported/exported etc with excel too?

Not out of the box.

But MODX offers a great API which makes it ridiculously easy to access / write data to custom tables. There is a learning curve before you can use custom tables, but once you figured it out the first time it makes perfect sense.


Addons like FormIt can take in hooks, which are custom snippets which allow you extend its behavior to, for example, write to a database, send an email etc etc.

I would be using the Revolution.
