MODX blog

Could anyone please help me set up a blog in my website?I’ve tried setting up one and it only shows the articles with no place to add comments.
Anyone with a complete procedure to set it up? please help.

You do have Modx running ok in your website?

There are many ways to set up Modx for blogging depending on the complexity you require.

Sounds like you’ve got this far but probably worth a glance anyway.

To get comments onto to each page you need to use the Jot snippet. At the bottom of each blog post (or template) you need to paste:

[[Jot? &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`10`]]

Again, depending on the complexity you require you’ll need to add some parameters. Check out this wiki for more control of the Jot snippet:

Thanks for your help but I think am missing a step somewhere.
1.I get to my page showing the blog and comment(0) then when I want to add a comment it takes me to a page with the modx template(siafuwatu.com/~siafuwa/modx/modx-0.9.6.3/index.php?id=38#commentsAnchor),how can I change this to the template am using for my website?
2.When I add a comment from there, it still shows comment(0).
3.Should I add [[Jot? &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`10`]] to my template or just on the blog page?

Can’t say I’ve ever used Jot but I’ve just inserted [[Jot? &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`10`]] beneath my blog text and it worked fine so it’s difficult to say why it isn’t working for you. The above snippet call asks for just a comment subject and comment text. What exactly is your snippet call?

If I understand you correctly, to change the template from the default MODx install template, you need to select the template you have designed for your site when you edit the page, in "Document Settings", "Uses template" ... so where ever you’ve pasted the Jot snippet under your blog post you need the change the template on that page.

I think you’d need to configure the snippet as such:

[[Jot? &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`10` &moderated=`1` &trusted=`Trusted Users`]]

Then you’ll need to add "Trusted Users" as a web group under the securities tab > web permissions > Web User groups.

You’ll also probably need to add the members to this group. Best to check out the wiki link I posted previously.
