Here’s my situation:
Resource 11 uses template 2. I wanted resources inside this container to use template 4, and I want certain template variables associated with template4 to be moved to the main tab. To this end, I have created two form customization rules: The first sets the template to 4 on create for any resources with a parent of 11; the other moves the relevant fields to the main tab for resources with a template of 4. Result? The template changes to 4 but the fields don’t move to the main tab. The rule to move the fields works fine if resource 11 is set to template 4, which makes its children default to template 4, but not if it is set to template 2, which is necessary for my site.
This seems to be another incarnation of something that has bugged me since form customization came out - the create rules don’t work if a template is changed after creation. I am thinking about requesting this as a feature. Any feedback would be appreciated.
