PHP Code Profiling and Analysis

Hi,

Has anybody done this for MODx? I use the PHP Xdebug tool and the Kcachegrind analysis tool to produce output like the following :-

This was a simple page load from 0.9.6.2 standard install, all options , of page 15(Features) of the test site.

Any page load can be profiled and analyzed, inside manager, outside etc.

Sorry if this is noise but I searched the forums for ’profiling’ and came up with nothing.

Not noise at all -- those tools were invaluable to me in developing Revolution.  And will continue to be important to help keep the software running as efficiently as possible.

BTW, there is also WinCacheGrind for those stuck on the windoze platform.

Ok OpenGeek, I was just wondering how you guys did this, actually it wasn’t the profiling I was initially after although this is good stuff, I was more interested in producing some call graphs of the major manager functions e.g. login, logout, refresh doc tree, new doc etc. so I could get a quick overview of the main code paths.

If you guys have these already are they available?

If not I’ll put some of these together using my toolset and publish them somehow, possibly on the wiki maybe.

I often find these give a good high level intro into non-trivial codebases like MODx for developers etc.
