As part of ongoing SEO efforts, I’m considering changing a bunch of page aliases on my site to include more keywords. Manually creating a 301 for each of these pages isn’t going to be much fun, for sure. I was wondering if there might be an easier way I’m not thinking of, perhaps a MODx addon...? grin

Check virtualAlias plugin, while you are at it changing the urls for each of them, just copy paste the old url in the TV.

Thanks - looks like just the ticket for me. Somewhat complicated to implement, but better than doing a bunch of manual 301’s for sure!

Just wanted to follow up and say that Virtual Aliases worked great for me and wasn’t nearly as hard to implement as I had expected. One thing to note: If you’re on Revo, as I am, you need the actual Virtual Aliases plugin, an updated derivitive of the original plugin. I brainlessly missed the difference between the two and attempted to install the Revo only version.

Anyway, big thanks to b03tz for bringing this excellent plugin to Revo. smiley It’s amazing what you can make MODx do with just a few lines of PHP!

I’ve been using Redirector on my site (which has had *a lot* of reorganizing in the past months) to create redirects. Even though it’s manual, it does the trick. You can manage the redirects from the component page.

I used the Notify404 plugin to let me know of links I missed to update and simply added the link, before it would affect other visitors.

So many cool extensions! So little time to try them all! shocked

Thanks for mentioning Notify404 - that’s one useful extension, which I have now implemented to guard against any future page-not-found issues. Don’t think I’ll mess with Redirector for now as I’ve already gone through and created a Virtual Alias for each resource, but good to know about that nonetheless.
