Superfetch is a gui wrapper for rss and www content with preg tool to format output
It has
Superfetch module to, represent data via gui and preview and test output
Fplug plugin to fetch remote content on given interval and update data
Fsnippet to be put on any page to show content
After first run, module set up a superfetch table to hold data such as
url, type, update freq, etc
It does not modify any content or alter modx settings
It just save cached output to /cache folder to be retrived via fsnippet

Why not just use any rss parser?
1 This wrapper uses simplepie which is able to read almost any rss content
I had problems with some nonstandart rss feeds so I switched to simplepie wich has great ability to read and fix broken rss feeds and parse almost all formats
2 also it works really fast because of cached output,
usually rss parser code execution takes some time and you can not cache it,
in this case output is cached always, and after rss feed update, cache is cleared out
2 It have template engine, so you can format rss output and preview it directly from module gui
you just need to modify the already given template to make any variation
3 it has regex engine to cut and replace content

Also at first run sample data import to Superfetch and you can see how it works
put on any page snippet

it will get file content retrived by fplugin from record id 13
