getting MODx from svn repository

    Hi,

    I finally got my host to install a svn client so I could fetch the latest dev from svn repository, according to this thread: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,5947.0.html

    I was a bit unhappy about all the .svn folders, so here’s a bash function that did the trick:

    function rsvn {
  for dir in $(find -name .svn -print)
  do
    echo "removing $dir"
    rm -r -f $dir
  done
}


    Oh, and there’s no going back. If you often update from svn, you should keep the original checkout folder with the .svn folders untouched, and make a copy to your modx installation.

      You can use the SVN export command to export the contents without the .svn folders if you wish to just get the latest files without the versioning information.

        I have my SVN folder then I use 
        $ rsync -aCv [src] [dest]
        to get rid of the SVN info in my production site smiley The -C option gets rid of CVS and SVN information from the destination folder.
