Rickie_S: no, that is not really possible with FeedX as is. You would need to write a custom snippet to create a document from each feed article, and that would not be easy to manage, or change over time. Generally people create local articles and distribute them with a feed or present external feeds on their sites that link back to the original source; you are talking about using feeds to create local content, which, in most situations, is nothing more than stealing someone else’s content for your own SEO benefits.

I don’t think it’s stolen, lot of site do this...
A description of the feed (30 words...) isn’t all the article but just the beginning.

Just because "a lot of sites do that" (now that one takes me back to one of my kids’ favorite whines when I wouldn’t allow something) doesn’t mean it’s not a copyright violation. The site owner generates the feed with the content he wants to distribute. Taking more than he released would be like seeing "free samples" for something in the supermarket and walking out with a package or two of the item being sampled (well, not exactly, since copyright infringement is not "theft" by definition, but the principle is the same).

At the very least, it would be polite to contact the site owner and ask first.

Regardless of the content issue, this is not a typical request, and you would do better to create some kind of dynamic RSS viewer than can cache results locally, and present both a summary and detail view of that information. Then you won’t be creating new database records for every RSS story. That would become unruly as I mentioned. It would be much easier to create a snippet to present one record from your cached RSS.

I’ve created a template called "mp"

when I call FeedX with &preset=`mp` it works fine for most of the tpl fines, with the exception of first, last and odd. Do we need to specify something for these tpls to work properly?

i like the feedx plugin very much! Great work btw.! At the moment i have a big problem with an complex xml feed which i can’t solve. Maybe somebody can give me a hint!?

The problem is, that i need to grap the ID from the car (Fahrzeug) in order to link to an detail page. It seems, that i can’t reach the ID while i’m "in" item.tpl!
How can i build the link to the detail page (gebrauchtwagen_details.htm?id=[+FAHRZEUG.ID+]) to display all the details for the corresponding id?

HELP, i need somebody... ;-)

Can I use FeedX to import rss articles as documents into modx?

I want to be able to add my twitter feed to my blog, so that I can create a lifestream blog.

Hi, I’m using FeedX to list RSS news titles with their dates, but I can’t get the date to display properly. I’ve added a PHx parameter, but all it gives me is the 1st January 1970 date instead of the proper time of creation of the news article. From what I’ve read on the forums this is a unixtime conversion issue that can be solved by using a Unixtime widget. But I don’t see how to use the Unixtime feature in a chunk.

I’ve tried with a RSS and RDF feed (with a different placeholder for the date), and it’s the same...

How can I format the time in FeedX?
