Here’s a newer version of the Wayfinder documentation file I’m developing.

While waiting for Kyle’s comments (it’s a lot to slog through isn’t it ;-) I’ve made some corrections and added what I hope is correct information about how to use config files.

. I thought I’d try to get all the info gathered and corrected before trying to figure out how best to add it to the wiki.

It will be great if It will be possible to have just the &rowIdPrefix string in [+wf.id+] (or just the docid in an other ph) and not the id="" .

I’m saying that, because I’m facing this problem to use the code below with WF (use js to display or not the ul parts):

If I can use something like that in WF with just the string value, my problem is solved grin

Hi kylej,

According my understanding of Laurent issue the best would be to have a [+parentid+] placeholder

<dt id="doss_02" onclick="listingdossiers(’02’);">Pendant les travaux</dt>
<dd>
<ul id="ssdoss_02" style="display:none;">

that way

<dt id="doss_[+docid+]" onclick="listingdossiers(’[+docid+]’);">Pendant les travaux</dt>
<dd>
<ul id="ssdoss_[+parentid+]" style="display:none;">

I’ve been using this version for a couple days in 0.9.6 RC 2 and haven’t had any problems

My scenario is one Wayfinder call for the top level menus and then another call inside a TV with [[UltimateParent]] as the start ID. My snippet calls are quite simple, so I’m not the best candidate for doing some extreme testing, WF2 RC 2 is working fine!

UPDATE: I’ve found an issue :-/ It involves the &hideSubMenus parameter. My site tree structure is in the attachment. Here’s the issue: I have two snippet calls on the Departments page (id 6) - one lists all the departments (Programs folder set to not show up in menu), the other lists all the programs (id 103). The snippet calls look like this:

<h2>Departments</h2>
[[Wayfinder? &startId=`6` &hideSubMenus=`true`]]
<h2>Programs</h2>
[[Wayfinder? &startId=`103` &hideSubMenus=`true`]]

The problem occurs with the second snippet call, it returns nothing. If I remove the &hideSubMenus parameter, it shows the correct menu.

Any advice? This snippet call worked fine in the previous version of Wayfinder.

I will look into that, however since the docs under programs have no children you don’t need to set that parameter to true. But I will look into the code and see if I can find the problem, it should still output the first level of links under that folder.

I’ve set the hideSubMenus parameter for future-proofing purposes, seeing as each department as an editor (not me), the editor may choose to add a child page and if that’s the case, I don’t want it showing up until a visitor clicks on the department/program.

For now though, I’ve disabled that functionality until it can be fixed. I haven’t looked through your source code enough to offer a suggestion though :-/ sorry...

try replacing line 65 of wayfinder.inc.php with this:

if (!$this->_config['hideSubMenus'] || $this->isHere($parentId) || $level <= 1) {

I haven’t tested this but I think it should work.
