Ditto 1.1 Beta 2

thanks for the info.... I’ll see what I can digest today.

I think the one site that seems to be running okay either way is a .2 version, the one with issues I know is .9SL.

Also, not highly tested, but I think there may also be an issue with showing editedon date. I used the datetype set to editedon, made some changes to the doc, but it continued to show createdon.

I noticed the parameter in Reflect, I think it was &full.... not in front of me at the moment, which defaults to 0... if I’m understanding this correctly, this would be the parameter I’m looking for to determine whether to show a full archive, including anything shown in summary, or to pick up where Ditto left off.... however, in searching the snippet, it doesn’t look like it has been used in the snippet at all.... I’m guessing this is a work in progress, but thought I’d mention it in case some code got left out.

&full does not exist in the snippet. Use &save=`1` on the Ditto call.

Thanks, found and figured out the &save. Just to clarify, while it doesn’t appear to be used at all, the &full is listed as a parameter in Reflect.


Reflect seems to be adopting the summarize limit set in Ditto... is this correct? If Ditto is set to summarize 2, only 2 results show in Reflect. If Ditto is set to summarize 5, then 5 results show in Reflect. While there might be a value in limiting the Reflect results, this doesn’t seem like it should be a default action.

This appears when set to &save=`1` but is okay when set to `2`.

The Reflect version bundled in Beta 2 is no-where near complete.

It is really good though!
I am using it on my personal site [ http://scottydelicious.com ] to create the wordpress style archive on the right sidebar.

It will be awesome when Reflect won’t be bound by the filtering ditto. For example when I click on the september 2006 link, it re-filters the page showing only items from September 2006, but the Reflect call on the sidebar now only has one link... September 2006, instead of all the months. This is a great start to a great snippet though!

How can I customize the output of the reflect snippet? Doesn’t seem to work with a &tpl trigger. I just want a simple unordered list with the latest articles (not the archive and month/year headers).

Otherwise this is looking really good

Yeah I got that, but I don’t understand how to remove everything else than the basic output without going into the snippet and actually removing it from the code.

From what I’ve seen and Mark’s comments, I don’t think Reflect is quite up to speed yet, compared to Ditto, as far as overall control or templating.
