No what I meant was I don’t understand what you mean by "Use any placeholders as you like on the "show profile" What do placeholders mean? I am new to mod x and am still learning

And do you know that last html I gave you? Where do I paste that? Im just lost :/

If you’re new to MODx it’s a pretty big project setting up both eForm and PPP, I do understand you get lost. The tutorial for PPP assumes you’re familiar with MODx, and I do recommend that you study the documentation for MODx.

But that wasn’t your question smiley

I’m not sure what your problem is, both the html and call to ppp seems ok, but I’ll try to explain some random stuff smiley

A placeholder is just something that holds data, in this case the placeholders holds data from the table for your user. So if you create a table field trough the ppp admin page called "eyecolor", then there will be a placeholder named [+eyecolor+] that you can use on your "view profile page" to show data for a user.

Have you created a new document in MODx for the show profile page? If so, on that page, have you put the call to ppp as in your post above on that page? Good!

Have you created the fields in the custom table for the placeholders that you have in your html above? Have you filled in some data on the "edit your profile" page? Great!

Have you put the html above on the "view your profile" page? You should put it in the "document content" in the document, I usually turn off editor when doing it.

Have you published the "view your document" page?

If done all that it should work. If not, let me know what’s not working.

        Hi!
After a few tests after the upgrade (i didn’t change anything within my pages, neither for my snippet calls (ppp and eform)), it seems that the call for the update of the account is broken?
        WHERE webuser = ;
I have an SQL error, the id of the webuser does not seem to be included in the query...

And back to the 0.2 version, everything works fine.

        I have the 0.95 version.
        Any clue?

        Thanks smiley

Integration of chat features into PPP from modx extension ’Yshout chat’ http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,10336.0.html

My personal view is that would be really nice integrating Yshout or similar in with what "uncle 68" has been working on for "eXtended user profiling" which adds a great dimension to social user controlled side of modx

You’re, it might be great, what are you thinking about?

The yshout inetgration was a great dev to expand on the core modules of Modx (well done doze!), as a new ’converted’ modx user I hadnt seen integration of any chat apps so far, I also liked what ’uncle 68’ http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,8922.0.html had produced which enabled end users to be able to create the account, produced personal home pages, own galleries and so on.

What I had been thinking was to integrate Yshout chat or similar so when a user created their ’personal account’ on uncle 68 system it enabled a predifined Yshout account, it then opens up possibilities for registered users accounts to chat with their approved friends list (eg buddies) in private rooms or Instant messaging even white boards, VoIp chat or webcamera operated chat rooms from defined registered users of the uncle 68 system. (no im not suggesting all this, just painting a picture with words that all)

Other variations (eg IM based chat)
AJAX IM http://www.unwieldy.net/ajaxim/ screen shot http://ajax.phpmagazine.net/upload/2006/02/ajaxim-thumb.pn (php)
          Meebo.com http://ajax.phpmagazine.net/upload/2006/02/meebo.jpg (Ok its Ruby!!!)

Anyone understand where I am going>>>>?

            @ Nicpan:

Ok, now two people have had this problem, I will dig into it. Problem is that I’m short of time right now, I must move one of my sites to a new host (current host have an uptime of 88% sad )

But I’ll fix the problem right after I’ve found a new host and moved my old Mambo-site.

EDIT: I’ve tried and tried and tried to reproduce this problem, but I just can’t get that error! So it’s a bit hard to know how I should fix it! But I’ll try some more, if you have any more info on when this happens and if it happens all the time, please let me know.

            @ Pacificlion

Thanks! smiley Yes, that sure looks interresting, I’ll definitely have a look into to it when I have fixed the problem in latest release of PPP! smiley

            @ PPP-users

Please let me know if someone else have had the same problem as Nicpan describes above, and possible any details on when exactly the problem occurs! Also, please let me know if you have upgraded to ppp 0.3 and NOT have this problem!

            Thanks all!

I confirm this problem. New local installation of MODx 0.95, updated eform 1.4.3 and brandnew ppp 0.3! Works fine, except changing profile data. I will have a look on the sql statement...

                  Thanks for the report.

I haven’t changed the sql statement in the latest version, but I’ve made some pretty big changes in the way id:s are handled. I guess I will first look for the problem there.

It could also be some something changed in eForm that causes my newbie code not working, I haven’t tried it with latest eForm versions.
Nicpan, what version of eForm do you use when you get the error?

Now that I know more about the problem I should be able to fix it pretty fast, I’ll spend some time on ppp tomorrow.

                  Thanks for your help! smiley

I have the same problem using eForm 1.4.1.
                    « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:

We are planning to use this scipt to give webusers multiple pages is this posible?

Oki, I’m doing a fresh install of MODx right now to see if I can reproduce the problem. On my demo site everythings seems to work fine, and it’s the same code. I hope I get the same error, it’s easier to fix the problem then! smiley

Yes, that should be easy, just create another user page template document with the fields you want on the second page, and then you can send the users to that page as usual with the "WID=xx" in the url.

But please note, I can give no guarantee about the security, if using on a live site you probably would check the code or have someone do it for you. The status of ppp is still "under development" and the recommendation is not to use it in a live site. However, there seems to be some people running this, so I guess it can’t be terrible bad! smiley
