hehe ;-) ja, toch even kijken of de functionaliteit van PPP wat voor me zou zijn...
ik ben zelf een uitgebreide profile member snippet/module aan het bouwen, vandaar..

the signup script is homebrew it has emailverification and the option to set a new password.

      Dimmy,

From what I can see you haven’t any field from the web_user_test table in the eForm template? If so, try adding one and see if you still get the error.

If not logged in as a webuser you’ll get an error message, the edit profile page should only be accessible if logged in as a webuser, for more info on this check the documentation. (You wouldn’t want a guest to be able to change data for obvious reasons tongue)

Just to be sure, you’re not trying to use ppp for the first registration of a new user? (You wrote "the signup script is homebrew" above, that’s why I ask)
PPP is not designed for that, it’s design to be used with a separate profile page when an user already registered through the built in user handling.
If you want to use ppp for the initial signup you would have to do some heavy modification of the script first. Probably not what you’re trying to do, but I mention this anyway just to be sure.

      In short:
      * Be sure to be logged in when working with entering data
      * Be sure the web user exists in web_users and web_users_attributes tables before trying to modify the profile by ppp.

Have you tried to set up ppp in a fresh MODx installation that haven’t yet any custom modifications to the web user system, following the included step-by-step tutorial with it’s examples?

My signupscript does the same as if I would create a webuser inside the manager. so no worries on that.

would it be good to have an error message instead of a pars error when i select the wrong table or did not use any fields in my eform?
also when I am logged in the manager and bruse tru the documents I do not like to see pars errors mabe it could check first if a webuser is loged in and the just display somthing like you need to login first or maybe show nothing instead of the pars error.

What if I do not have aditional fields? could i use [[ppp]]

I tryed this but then I get this error:
        « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« Execution of a query to the database failed - Table 'isail.modx_0' doesn't exist »

          Dimmy,

In version 0.1 of PPP it worked fine to use ppp without any custom table, but I have made lots of changes in the code since then, maybe in version 0.3 it doesn’t work anymore.

After the weekend I’ll test this, and if not working I’ll make it work.

I’ll also try to add some checking as you requested in your post above.

I had a problem with getting uploaded files included in the email sent. I was only getting the file name. I fixed this by changing the eForm call from:

            &eFormOnBeforeMailSent=`updatetable`

            to:

            &eFormOnMailSent=`updatetable`

This fixed the issue and the file is now included in the email. I have not seen any other errors from this change. If you only want the file name reported, then &eFormOnBeforeMailSent works fine.

              Great information Chuck! Thanks!

I’ll update the documentation when I’ll find some time to work with PPP. (Pretty much else to do right now... )

You should be able to. Just include it in the email report right?

Im stuck at step 5 where it says "Use any placeholders as you like on the "show profile" page All I have on that page is "[[ppp? &useTable=`web_user_test`]]" which is the right table and everything.
and the html for it is listed below. BUT I don’t know where I have to put the HTML code? In the show profile page? a snippet? a chunk? then what do i do?

I have a custom table that’s already populated with data. Is it possible to use this table? Right now it will display the table, but not any of the fields that exist in it. Is there a way to have the fields that are already in the table show up in the list?

Do I have to let PPP make the custom table add all the fields via PPP and then use a db utility to populate the rest of the data?

                      Thanks.
