Check that on the resource, settings tab, Rich text is checked. If not checked, check it, save the resource and reload the window.

If it’s been installed properly you should see the RTE popping up in the content screen, and also a dropdown box underneath it where you can select either blank or TinyMCE.

If it aint, check the error log to see if anything went wrong during install.

Done all of that, still nothing.

I went into Resource settings tab last night before even making this post, saw it was checked off for Rich Text, tried to uncheck it, save, refresh, recheck it, save, refresh again... still nothing. Checked the System Settings again, turned Rich Text OFF in System, selected NONE for which editor to use. Refreshed, reset to YES and TinyMCE, Cleared Cache (Server and Local), Deleted Cache Manually via FTP, purged all manager sessions, relogged, still nothing.

I’m about to give up completely on rich text, this is far too difficult to get something so simple up and running, and it doesn’t look like red offers much support on this add-on since I was reading that section and it appears I’m not the only one with this issue and others have resorted to hacking their core as a means to get this to work.. I don’t want to hack my core, but I don’t want to be forced to update the site every time it needs a tweak because my clients don’t understand html... so I’m stuck, in a very bad spot. Is there really no alternative to Tiny? It does. not. work.

I know MODx is supposed to be the "solution" to not being able to do exactly whatever you want, because it doesn’t OFFER plugins by default, you just find and choose your own... but would it really hurt to have included something as simple and important as a Rich Text Editor in your default release? I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants it and can’t have it due to lack of Tiny support and proper install.

Edit: I should probably also mention that I’ve checked my Error log per your suggestion. It’s completely empty. No errors at all. I’ve even uninstalled Tiny off my Package list, forced deletion, removed all traces of "tinymce" folders I could find in my MODx install, downloaded it directly to my computer, uploaded to core/packages/, searched for it locally, re-installed it, same issues.

I read a post somewhere saying that "if you see a blank readme/changelog flash over your screen then the install just starts by itself, your download isn’t finished" -- but I’ve re-downloaded and re-installed nearly a dozen times and EVERY time it shows me blank readme/changelog and then installs on its own.

      This is really seriously confusing.

When uinstalling again this morning, I noticed everything in the install went smooth other than:

Skipping modPluginEvent object (data object does not exist and cannot be removed): Array ( [pluginid] => 0 [event] => OnRichTextBrowserInit )
Skipping modPluginEvent object (data object does not exist and cannot be removed): Array ( [pluginid] => 0 [event] => OnRichTextEditorRegister )
Skipping modPluginEvent object (data object does not exist and cannot be removed): Array ( [pluginid] => 0 [event] => OnRichTextEditorInit )

However, all of those settings WERE enabled in the Plugin, so I don’t understand how they don’t exist and can’t be removed?

How can I go about making sure that Tiny is COMPLETELY 100% uninstalled before trying to install again so that I can avoid these skip errors that I also seem to get during install?
