[BETA.0.2] : TV Editor => edit TV options values

Hi folks,

I’m working on a module which aim is to provide aneasy way to edit TV options values.
In the same time it will manage the update of existing values stored in modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues

//Features:
- List all TVs which meets this criteria : (done)
=>accept only listbox,listbox-multiple,checkbox,option,dropdown TV type with value != @bindings

- Edit the options values according two modes (done)
=>mode 1: value||value2
=>mode 2: name==value||name==value

- check if new or updated values are not duplicates (in progress)

- Update modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues according new values (done)
- delete entry in modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues if new value is empty(done)

- Sort TV display in template (based on menu index) (done)

So before continuing, we’d like to know if someone is being working on a similar project ?

I’ve corrected the issue concerning the new options (see post below for details)

the code really needs to be cleaned up and improved.
there are no error messages when duplicate are found, in that case the form is reloaded till you correct the duplicates entries.

That is looking excellent! Great work so far.

I was planning on implementing the TV sorting into the Doc Manager module that’s shipping with 0.9.5, but I’m wondering whether to do it now. I think the TV Editor and Doc Manager module would sit perfect together in terms of the features they offer - not really much point having unnecessary crossovers.

Do you have a timescale on completion for this at all?

Like any modx contributors, we will develop the remaining features during our free time so it’s hard to announce a release date.

EDIT: about tv sorting for templates, the main issue is that rank property is defined in modx_site_tmplvars which means that when TV is shared beetwen several template your changes will affect all templates.
In my opinion, rank field should be part of modx_site_tmplvar_templates table.

I rely so much on TVs that this will be a great tool

How’s the progress going heliotrope?

I’m still working on it but as a non professionnal developper, the last steps are the hardest.
I’ve asked for help in french forum.
I hope we’ll be able to release a beta in a couple of weeks.
